Since 1983, the Kendall Federation of Homeowner Associations has sponsored the "Operation Turnaround" program for selected schools in our boundaries. The Kendall Federation, as a Dade Partner, works with over 43 schools in Districts 5 and 6 in order to establish an "Operation Turnaround Program" within each school.

This award is designed to recognize one student in each elementary, middle and senior high school class who has demonstrated the greatest academic and behavioral improvement during the school year. The award is targeted at the student, who may not be at the top of his or her class, but has made a significant effort to improve his or her attitude, attendance, grades and behavior.

We host an annual awards luncheon which gives us the opportunity to honor these outstanding young men and women who have worked hard to achieve this award. We are pleased to announce that once again Miami Dade College and the Phi Beta Kappa of South Florida honor society have awarded special scholarships to college bound students.

Our annual luncheon was held on Wednesday, May 14, 2008 at Signature Gardens; 12725 SW 122 Ave. This year our Keynote Speaker was Ron Magill from Miami Metrozoo.
